• Hogs For The Cause is a two-day BBQ & Music Festival that hosts over 85 local and regional BBQ teams who compete in different categories while raising money for the Children's Hospital of Louisiana. Over the course of 11 years, Hogs has raised over $3.7 million dollars and built the Children’s Hospital’s Hogs House, an on-campus housing facility for families from outside the New Orleans region who have a child receiving ongoing treatment at Children’s Hospital.


    I joined the Hogs team in their 10th year of running the festival. I was tasked with defining the brand voice for socials, emails, and the website. The founders, two very cheeky men from Louisiana, had been running everything since the inaugural event and fans loved their wit and humor. I made it a point to comb through old posts, research the highest engagement topics, and find other brands who used similar tone to better help define the Hogs' brand voice.

    Social Media and Community Management

    Brand Voice & Messaging

    I managed the content, growth and engagement strategy for Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. One of my top priorities was ensuring the brand voice remained consistent across all of our social platforms as well as weekly newsletter blasts and the website.


    Combining the witty humor of the Hogs' co-founders with important festival messages proved to be the most effective strategy for driving optimal engagment with fans.

    Part of my promotional strategy was working with artists to create specific Hogs branded content.


    I built personal relationships with artist teams to help create post and image ideas that were on-brand for the artist as well as the festival to drive engagement with both.

    Photo and Video Team Lead

    Pre-Festival and Festival Promotion

    While content from the festival is one of the most important elements when creating promotions and social posts, it was one of the areas least focused on prior to my arrival. I took it upon myself to collaborate with the festival founders, sponsors, and partners to create a photo and video shot list for the Hogs festival.


    I also oversaw the on-site photographers and videographers. At the end of each day, I would go through all of the photos submitted from the day to use across social media platforms to promote continued ticket purchases. All remaining content was assembled to be used for the next year's festival campaign.
